Born in 1946 his love of the sea began soon after in 1950 during a voyage from Istanbul to New York on board the Turkish Maritime Lines vessel Tarsus. Through out his life Cetin has enjoyed his passion for the sea by vacationing on board yachts or by the sea. He bought his first yacht, a 10meter motor yacht, in 1991 then bought his second yacht, a 21meter Gulet, in 2002.
Cetin studied at Talas and Tarsus American college after which he went to Middle East Technical University to study Business Administration majoring in Finance. For 30 years he was an employee of the successful multinational company Unilever. During his time at Unilever Cetin worked in a multitude of positions and traveled extensively throughout the world. Cetin’s final position at Unilever before retirement in 2002 was as Business Group President for Diversey-Lever, a company with 12000 employees operating in over 150 countries around the world.
Cetin set up Mural Yachts with his two sons in 2005 where he aims to build top quality yachts infused with his own personal experiences of the sea.
Murat’s interest in boating began from a young age. Born in Istanbul an inherent love of the sea was not difficult with the presence of the Bosphorus. At the age of six Murat moved to England then to the Netherlands where his interest in yachting grew. This interest was further amplified by spending summer holidays on board Turkish Gulets in the South of Turkey.
Murat decided to pursue his interest and studied Naval Architecture at the University of Southampton graduating with a Masters in Engineering in 2006. After graduating Murat returned to Turkey where he first played a small part in the construction of Mural Yachts initial launch Serenity 86 after which he designed Getaway. At the end of 2007 Murat returned to the Netherlands to begin working for Vripack. During his employment he was responsible for Naval Architecture work for several projects such as Axantha II and Windcat 24.
At the end of 2009 Murat returned to Turkey to continue his work at Mural Yachts to design beautiful custom yachts to the exacting wishes of Mural Yachts clients.
Ali’s love for the sea which developed at a young age while spending many summer vacations in the Aegean is what eventually led him to enter the yachting industry. He gained valuable information on crew members and life at sea during his six years of experience as a host aboard charter yachts in Turkey. This period also allowed him to explore the Turkish coastline in great detail, giving him worthy insight into planning itineraries for clients. During his time as charter manager, he has had the privilege of exceeding the expectations of many affluent travelers.
